Matebkiche my dear friend

Allow me to thank everyone who have been with me all my life. As I look back, I can't stay silent but express my deepest gratitude to all of you for guiding me when I'm lost and comfort me when I'm sad.

At times, I feel like I'm not worth a single praise, which I think is true most of the time. I mean, we all have our worries to look after. Soon, we'll find a way. So, matebkiche my dear friend... : )

My grandfather's story

My grandfather once told me that you suppose to go around the roundabout, not over it.

I too have been wearing this mud-coated spectacle for too long.

Lets together sgueeze our ego dry and kiss our pride goodbye. It is not about who wins the race, it is about the experiences and lessons we absorb throughout the race and that's what matters most.

Another day in KLPAC

A thousand thanks to Azhar who "hemah"ly drove us all the way to sentul safely without a scratch and with still-attached limbs. Hopefully our next trip to KL pac will be lesser on the fuel. To Acap, Aqilah, and Krun, plus Azhar and Irfan you guys made my day brighter..

Our age is coming to an end, brother.

And during this, the sunset, senja, of our generation; such common company among brothers and friends is to be kept and valued.

The Land Of the Khmer through my eyes

Meet the happy temple of Bayon. I think they have
the never-ending smile malady..

Architectural tendencies

High rise structures are not uncommon anymore anywhere in the world. The taller you build, the more magnificent a city becomes. I can't imagine the earth 20 years from now blooming with sky-rocketing buildings like mushrooms during the rainy seasons, bak kata pepatah, ibarat cendawan tumbuh mase hujan..

A painted sky

The desert sky is very unique compared to the tropical ones. Ranging from 14 to 24 degrees in the winter with less than an inch of rain each month, it is a wonderful piece of art.

Bowling Mayhem

Irfan, choosing the perfect bowl to defeat his nemesis.

And now, the touch of destiny..

8 Hours Of Transit

Today was a very long day as I felt what Victor Nevorsky had felt in The Terminal. The long transit started from 11 pm yesterday until 11pm today (waktu Malaysia). After a full day of waiting at the Kuwait airport, we finally got airborne and have arrived safely unscathed.

What is preferable?

I prefer Yasmin Ahmad.
I prefer toilet trained cats.
I prefer silence.
I prefer BBC to CNN.
I prefer myself to liking classes to myself loving school.
I prefer keeping a pen and notebook on hand, just in case.
I prefer the colour purple, yellow, and green.
I prefer to maintain that belief is to solve everything.
I prefer excuses.
I prefer to come late.
I prefer talking to patients to talking to doctors.
I prefer the old cameras.
I prefer the absurdity of digging my nose in public to the absurdity of not digging my nose in public.
I prefer, where nature's concerned, nonspecific No Plastic Bags Day that can be celebrated everyday.
I prefer politicians who promise nothing.
I prefer simple innovation to no innovation at all.
I prefer the earth cooling to the earth warming.
I prefer traveling to conquered to conquering countries.
I prefer having some bookings.
I prefer the war of chaos to the war of order.
I prefer Farish Noor's writings to the newspaper's front pages.
I prefer streets without rubbish.
I prefer shops without promoters.
I prefer bulletproof glasses.
I prefer many things I've left unsaid.
I prefer writing to drawing.
I prefer the time during examination to the time of stars.
I prefer to talk with someone intelligent.
I prefer to ask how much longer and when.
I prefer keeping in mind even the possibility that no one gets out alive.

Try spotting the monks!

My mind is full of splendid memories of Cambodia which I can revive and look at whereever I want. I love those sunsets, gold and purple and orange, spreading across the sky at evening, and the monkeys and chickens and dogs on the misty floor of villages sitting on the pale grassy banks of the great moat, the water dark, stagnant, and glossy, with all the lotus of Angkor floating about. Plus the temples, tuk-tuks, and ta prom and the rest, there were plenty of those, and above all, the monks, still vivid, orange and wonderful, full of life.

I believe that Dubai is confused of itself..

From my viewing of Dubai, it is a fast growing city without ending. Dubai has successfully captured the attention of the world but it needs to be more humble. Too many sky rocketting buildings might bring false impression on what actually is the purpose of Dubai. I think that if Dubai had not rushed to rapid growth, the city would have been better now. Forget about the craziest structure on earth. Why not make it the center for intellectual gathering.

What do you think of Dubai?
